If you are planning to get one of these or already have, and are looking for help with the setup process, you’re in the right place. This blog will walk you through the easy steps to complete the tplink extender setup easily using the TP-Link Tether app in no time.

What is required For TP-Link Extender Setup?

Before you begin with the extender setup process, make sure you have the TP-Link Tether app installed on your wireless device. On the contrary, if you are using iOS devices, you can use the Apple Play Store to download and install the app. Once installed, you can proceed with the setup process in no time.

Secondly, since your extender will work in sync with the main wireless router at home, you’ll need to grant access to the latter’s network as well. Having said that, make sure you have the main router’s network access credentials handy. These will include the router’s network SSID and the network password.

Finally, ensure you have the default settings related to your extender device. These will include the default web address/IP address, the admin username and password details, etc. Once you have these things handy, you can proceed with the setup process easily.

Once the network settings are complete, you can relocate your extender to a location about halfway between the main router and the WiFi dead zone you’re looking to cover. Plugin the extender and wait for about 2 minutes till the LED on the extender turns solid blue. If that does not happen, relocate the extender close to the main router so you can achieve better signal quality.
