The default web address you can use to access the TP-Link extender configuration page is https://www.tplinkextender.net or https://www.tplinkrepeater.net. Alternatively you can also use the IP address https://192.168.0.1 in place of the TP-Link extender web address.
The default admin credentials also need to be arranged. The default username is “admin” and the default password is the word “password” itself. Once you are ready with these details, you can proceed with the setup and configuration process.

TP-Link configuration using the web-based setup wizard

As mentioned, the web address https://www.tplinkextender.net or https://www.tplinkrepeater.net can be used to access the TP-Link setup page. You can also use the IP address 192.168.0.1 in place of the web address. Here are some steps you can follow to complete your TP-Link extender configuration:

Plug in your range extender to a power outlet which is in the same room as your main router. Switch on the power supply and allow the extender to power up. You’ll notice the power LED blink and then turn to solid.
Open the Network and Sharing Center on your computer/smartphone and look for the TP-Link extender network SSID in the available networks list. Select the network and then click on the “Connect” button.

Accessing the TP-Link Repeater Network

Launch a web browser and type the default web address in the address bar. You can also use the IP address instead. Press the Enter key once entered. You’ll be directed to the TP-Link extender configuration wizard.
Here, the extender setup wizard will ask you to select the source router network, which you want your extender to connect to. You’ll be shown a list of networks to choose from. Select the network and then type in the default password and click on the “Connect” button.
In the next step, type in a new SSID and password for your extender network. Also select the Network Encryption type as WPA2PSK and then click on the “Next” button.
Once you have configured your TP-Link range extender network, you will need to define an admin username and password if you want to. Once changed, click the Save button.
The final screen will show you a summary of the network configuration you have just modified. If you want you can record the same and then proceed with relocating your TP-Link extender to a location you prefer.

TP-Link Extender Configuration using the WPS method

WPS refers to “Wireless Protected Setup”. If your main router supports the WPS feature you can use the same to configure your network settings. Once you have located the buttons, you can proceed with the WPS setup process:

Plug in your range extender in the same room as your main router. Switch on the power supply and wait for the device to power on itself. You’ll notice the power LED blink and then turn solid.
Now, press the WPS button on your main router till the same lights up and begins blinking.
Go to your range extender and then press the WPS button on the device. You’ll see the WPS button glow and then turn solid. This means that the device has connected to the router network and is ready to extend the signals.
You can now connect your devices/computer to the extender network using the main router network. You can also relocate the device to your preferred location.

Resolving issues with the TP-Link configuration

While you are trying to access the TP-Link extender configuration page online, you may come across issues preventing you from gaining access to the internet. Now, there may be several reasons responsible for these. Some of them include:
